Milazzo is a small town in the province of Messina mainly famous to be the best way to get the ferryboat to the Eolie Islands. And the port of Milazzo is indeed one of the most important in Sicily, also thanks to its natural shape of peninsula that creates a natural port. Already a colony during the Greek time, Milazzo start to become an important center after the Arabic dominion, when the Normans rebuild and extend its castle. Later on the Spaniards expanded the castle even more, making it today the main touristic attraction of the town, which preserves its medieval character and architecture in the old town.
